According to CJ Olive Young
sales of partial mask packs
in the first half of this year
increased by 97% compared to
the same period last year.

The proportion of
partial mask packs
among all mask packs
jumped from 19% last year
to 34% this year.  
According to the Ministry of
SMEs and Startups,
the size of the domestic
mask pack market reached
1.79 trillion won last year.

Partial mask pack refers to
a pack intended for
use on areas that are
easily exposed to UV rays,
such as under the eyes,
the bridge of the nose,
and cheekbones.  
For this reason,
it is often called a 'spot patch'
or a 'patch mask pack'.  
Most of the shapes are
half-moon, wing-shaped,
or round in order to
prevent them from
falling off the face.

A cosmetic industry official said,
"There are areas where
exposure to UV rays is
unavoidable even if
you put sunscreen on
your face and wear a hat."
  In particular,
the industry explained that
the sales of cosmetics that
help cool the skin heated up
while enjoying outdoor sports
such as golf in the hot heat
also increased.

Generally, July and August
are considered the off-season
for golf due to the heat.
  However, as golf emerged
as a safe sport to enjoy with
nature amid the COVID-19 crisis,
the distinction between
peak season and off-season
disappeared.
The cosmetics industry is
pouring out related new products
targeting the rapidly increasing
number of golfers.

According to the industry,
AHC recently launched
the 'Masters Sun' line of sun care
products in partnership
with golf coach Se-ri Pak.
Two types of sunscreen and
sunscreen are representatives
of Se-ri Pak's UV protection secret,

judged that the golf-related
cosmetics market has opened
anew are recruiting
famous golf players
as their models one after another.
This shows that the market

"As golf has become so popular that
various golf entertainment
shows have appeared recently,
sales of golf wear as well as
related cooling cosmetics are
increasing significantly.
It is expected that more people
will be looking for partial mask packs
or cooling cosmetics.”
